They had to fight hard to stop us naturally handing things down in families - making that a sign of poverty etc. We had instead the building in obsolescence to consumer products and telling us we need them all - they have a giant distribution network - a beast of a system which although a really wondrous feet of industry is built on inefficiency and is destined to inevitable, possibly imminent collapse.

Where as; in our new anti-consumption economy - we also need a distribution network and granular local infrastructure ...rather a redistribution network... so... we’re gonna try this!

THE FUN PART! Shopping for second hand items or upcyclable materials , goods for environmental projects anything really!

We Love a community focused - but nothing wrong with buying a wee humble bargain - maybe it’s just something too big to carry home from a charity shop - go foraging!

In a seller situation we could give you a pre-booked fetch badge for your sale pictures indicating you are not only able to deliver the item but that it is done very eco-friendly-type way... yes. Makes the selling of goods a little easier if you are sorted for local shipping :)

Buyer decides to transact when happy with goods and that will occur Live digitally to the satisfaction of the seller before leaving with the goods.

Our freelancer is only there to facilitate the transaction both seller and buyer will have live authorisations being given before uplift and the FETCH is complete.

After that we bring your stuff home! woohoo

Urban foraging is nothing new, I mean really people are doing it right now.

These vans have to be humungous in order to take big items even if that is quite rare meaning that these vehicle often in congested areas are burning fuel extremely wastefully when carrying very small items or low volumes on averabe this weight is nationally been estimated to be below 200kg

It’s all a bit grim, we know... but to put it in a nutshell...

Fetch is an OPEN SOURCE concept obviously meaning we hope people will use the term but only when it’s a lovely bicycle person - we recommend a local cargo-bike logistics company who has done a bit of training at least rather than a random person no doubt lovely but may drop heavy things on people etc...safety first! We have to say that despite the obvious disparity between risk assessments regarding climate catastrophe etc.

We want to open up the use of the vehicles to all without everyone having to own their own and ride about in the howling gales of Edinburgh. We think that’s NUTS quite frankly.
